Ducati Monster 400
Which bike to buy for city ride?
I’m currently riding a piaggio x9 250 scooter and I’m planning to buy a new ride
2 options are : supermoto or naked
super moto options are – yamaha mt-03 , xt 660 x , drz 400 sm and ktm duke II
naked options are kawasaki er 6 n , Ducati Monster 620 , and fz6
i have an offer from a ktm 640 adv but i believe it wont fit my daily routine needs.
so which one to buy ?
they are almost about the same price
I used to ride a KTM 640 Adventure R for commuting, fitted with KTM supermoto wheels and tyres, it could be a bit of a handful and the narrow seat is a killer (I still have it but don’t commute on it), now I use an XT600E which, although it is low powered deals with the rush hour very well, squeezes through narrow gaps and copes with the weather and pot-holes with very little need for maintenance – except the front brake can get clogged with road dirt and needs cleaning every now and then.
I think I would probably go with the XT660, but I have heard good things about the ER6N, if you fit on an Adventure you will find the Monster is tiny.
